وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
Wa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo bishimaalihee fa yaqoolu yaalaitanee lam oota kitaaabiyah
And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!
— Al-Haqqah (ٱلْحَاقَّة), 69:25
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡTransliteration: Wa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo bishimaalihee fa yaqoolu yaalaitanee lam oota kitaaabiyah
Translation (Yusuf Ali): And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!
This is verse 25 of Surah Al-Haqqah (ٱلْحَاقَّة, meaning "The Inevitable"), the 69th surah of the Quran. It is a Meccan surah with 52 total verses.
