وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ فَبِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Wa maa asaabakum yawmal taqal jam'aani fabi iznil laahi wa liya'lamal mu'mineen
What ye suffered on the day the two armies Met, was with the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers,-
— Aali Imran (آلِ عِمْرَان), 3:166

Translation (Yusuf Ali): What ye suffered on the day the two armies Met, was with the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers,-
This is verse 166 of Surah Aali Imran (آلِ عِمْرَان, meaning "The Family of Imran"), the 3th surah of the Quran. It is a Medinan surah with 200 total verses.
